Blaine McKinney has served as our Communications Minister since May of 2020. He also works alongside our YAC (Young Adult & College) Ministry. Previously, he has been a Youth Minister in Residence and an intern for two summers in our youth ministry. Blaine graduated from Freed-Hardeman University in 2018 with a Bible degree in Missions.
How I Serve the MJ Family
I have a passion for serving in many different ways, but my role as our Communications Minister involves working with our website (glad you're on it now!), social media, digital resources, live streaming, and other media-related efforts. I also help assist at our MJ Helpdesk if you need tech help with our church online tools. I work with various ministry leaders to find creative ways to engage the congregation, organize event signups, advertise for them, and assist in media-related needs.
In addition to comms, I work with our YAC (Young Adult & College) Ministry. I serve closely alongside the YAC shepherd, Doug Williams, and two deacons to serve this group. I teach often in our Sunday Bible class and try to keep up with college students from the MJ Family while they are in school. We have frequent activities and maintain a close connection with one another in this transitional time period in life. We strive to create an environment for young adults and college students to take ownership of their faith as they transition into adulthood and find their place in the kingdom of God.
More About Me
I love spending time outdoors! Hiking, running, cycling, camping, and disc golf are all on my list of favorite things to do in my spare time. I am a true fan of an old-fashioned road trip and finding the path less traveled on adventures. I am also always up for a board game and taking time to sing worship songs together.
