Freqently Asked Questions

Can I bring my children to my support group meetings?

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer childcare for any of our support groups at this time. Our goal is to provide a safe space for participants to open up, and some of our topics can get very heavy. We also need to create an atmosphere of confidentiality within our group. For these reasons, we ask that all group members make plans to attend meetings without their children.

Where is the Mt. Juliet Counseling Center located?

The counseling center is located at 296 2nd Avenue South, Mt. Juliet, TN, 37122. We are on a little street behind the Senior Citizen’s Center.

When will the support groups meet?

Support groups typically meet on Sundays from 3pm-4:30pm or on Wednesdays from 5pm-6:30pm. Once your support group has enough participants to meet, you will receive an email letting you know the exact day and time it will meet.

When will the group I registered for begin?

We require at least 8 participants for each group to begin. Once we have received enough registrations, you will receive an email with all the details about your group, including a start date.

What is the cost and commitment associated with these support groups?

We are so thankful to be able to offer all of these groups free of charge at this time. Because the success of the group depends on member participation, we do ask that all participants are intentional about attending group meetings regularly, with the exception of illness or family emergencies.

Are these therapeutic counseling groups?

No. As a ministry of the Mt. Juliet Church of Christ, we are pleased to offer these support groups as a place for individuals with similar struggles to come together to share and support one another while also gaining comfort from our Heavenly Father. While support group leaders do hold at least a master’s degree in either counseling or social work, they are not licensed counselors and will not be assessing, diagnosing, or treating any mental health disorders.

Will I be pressured to share in these groups?

Absolutely not. Part of creating a safe space means we will never force you to share more than you are comfortable with. We have found that more hesitant participants tend to open up after the first few weeks of groups, but you will not be asked to share more than you are comfortable with.
